Nature and culture
Kvinesdal stretches from sea to mountains and is surrounded by fantastic hiking trails and cultural treasures. In addition to strong ties to America, it is the nature in and around Kvinesdal that makes many people come here.
There are a number of hikes for all levels in the area, some just outside the hotel. We pack picnic baskets and packed lunches for both short and long hikes. We are also happy to package a good deal with accommodation and meals.
Kvinabadet
A new and beautiful swimming facility that contains a pool, diving center, whirlpool, water slides, therapy pool and the longest water slide in Southern Norway at 63.3m.
Mountain hikes for all levels
Around the hotel you can choose from many fantastic mountain hikes, both short and longer day hikes, summit hikes and climbing. We are happy to pack picnic baskets and packed lunches.
Salmon Fishing in the Kvina River
The Kvina River offers fantastic fishing opportunities. Here you can catch salmon and sea trout. You get 16 km of fishing distance of varied character, quiet areas and waterfalls.
Knaben Via Ferrata
Via Ferrata is a form of mountain climbing where the climbing route consists of steel steps and safety cables. The trip gives you the opportunity to experience the mountain in an exciting way without compromising safety, no climbing experience required.
Fedafjorden – a cultural treasure
Feda is one of the best preserved cultural environments in Agder. The place has been popular since the Stone Age. Along the river that winds into the valley, beech arches, sea arches, boathouses, old houses and outbuildings lie harmoniously side by side.
Lista
Lista is described as Jæren in miniature. The landscape offers endless, white sandy beaches, and a bustling birdlife year-round. 40 minutes drive from the hotel.

Activities for the whole family
Lista Adrenalinpark offers fast-paced activities for the whole family. The Adrenalinpark consists of several aircraft hangars run by various activity associations. Try paintball, GoKart, bubble soccer, escape room, trampoline park, hunting simulator, skate park and more.
Mining Town Knaben
A visit to Mining Town Knaben is a unique experience. Here you can join guided tours of the “abandoned mine” and visit the museum that shows Knaben’s mining and war history.
Knaben Alpinsenter
A very family-friendly resort. Knaben Alpinsenter is located at 525 m to 705 m above sea level and has three wide slopes and a small children's slope. If you don't have your own skis or boards, they will arrange all the equipment you need for rental. Plenty of space on the slopes and a large parking lot.
The Emigrant Museum
The journey to America. There are many stories about Norwegians who emigrated to the United States in the 1930s and 40s. But few places are they as well documented as here. See pictures, documents and articles from the period 1880 to 1960.
Utsikten Art Center – Førland Museum
At the far end of Utsikten is Marcelius Førland's artist home and studio. The home is a museum and has a rich selection of Førland's paintings. Kristian Marcelius Førland is Kvinesdal's most famous painter.
